JIM
HERMEL, features on Lead vocals, lead/slide guitar,
and blues harmonica.
The JIM HERMEL BAND perform the songs of early
Elvis, (rockabilly and rock 'n' roll,) Jerry Lee Lewis, Little
Richard, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Gene Vincent,
and Bill Haley etc., etc. along with Country Rock Classics,
Boogie & Blues.
Jim is joined
in the JIM HERMEL BAND by two of Australia's
veteran long time full time touring artists sisters VIRGINIA
HERMEL and LYNETTE COAD both dynamic
multi-talented musicians who are strong seasoned performers
on Bass guitar and Drums with pure, well defined lead and harmony
vocals.
Virginia and Lynette are involved in many bands and continue
to perform in most of them between shows by the JIM
HERMEL BAND.
Multi-recording artists, with an huge library of albums behind
them, both Virginia and Lynette are no stranger to awards and
accolades for their work.
SHOW
HIGHLIGHTS
During the course of the JIM HERMEL BAND performance,
Jim switches to drums, and the ladies perform as stars in their
own right.
Virginia on vocals, also plays brilliant lead guitar, including,
note for note, the famous Bill Haley & The Comets "Rock
Around The Clock" guitar solo, possibly the only female
guitarist in the world to play this famous and intricate guitar
solo.
For the two ladies front of stage segments, Lynette, also on
vocals, takes over bass guitar and includes blues harmonica
solos.
RECORDING
Through the years as *JIM HERMEL & THE HOT CHIX
the band recorded three albums of upbeat Rock 'n' Roll classics.
Those CDs are still for sale via their website as the JIM
HERMEL BAND still performs material from those albums.

• Performed on the same show as Jerry Lee Lewis, at the
JERRY LEE LEWIS SHOWROOM, in Nashville, Tennessee
• Formed own band in Texas on later tours of America,
playing in famous 6th Street, Austin, the former haunt of Texas
rock exponent, Stevie Ray Vaughan.
• Other USA appearances: New Orleans, Baton Rouge, NBC
TV, “Citizens Live” cable Television Show, Fort
Huachuca (For the US Desert Storm Troops, 1991), Live radio
Interviews and performances.
• Performed on the main stage of the Big River Festival,
San Antonio, Texas USA, a festival which attracts 100,000 people
annually, in 1986, and again in 1991, and became the first Australian
to perform at Bangkok's "Hard Rock Cafe."
• Continually performs around Australia at Rock and Roll
Festivals, Functions & Concerts including two years at the
Canberra Multi-cultural Festival (Route 66 American Experience),
plus The Birdwood Rock N Roll Festival SA and Twin Towns.
• Inducted into the Tamworth Hands Of Fame, The Barmera
Hands Of Fame, and the South Australian Music Hall Of Fame.
